PMO2000™ by OMCS International

Get Started with a Pilot Workshop

The Pilot Workshop is the most effective way to properly evaluate the PMO2000® process and indeed any Reliability Assurance process. OMCS encourage all our prospective clients to conduct the Pilot as a first step and most especially when our process is being compared to other Reliability Centred Maintenance or Assurance processes.

Every client that has conducted a PMO2000® Pilot has progressed to full process roll out.

The Pilot allows you to, based on experience:

Typical Pilot Program

The following table summarises a typical Pilot program:

Timing Activity Present
Day 1 Stake Holder Department Management Briefing Client Company Management
Days 1 & 2 Staff Briefings and On Site Preparation Client Company Reliability Engineer, Pilot site Operators and Maintenance Staff.
Day 3 PMOptimisation - PMO2000® Practitioner Training (including bound training notes) Up to 16 operators and maintenance staff (must include workshop team staff and approvers)
Days 4 to 7 PMO2000® Workshop 1 Workshop Team 1
Days 8 to 12 PMO2000® Workshop 2 Workshop Team 2 (or 1)
Day 12 Workshop Management Presentation Workshop Team(s) and Management
Days 13 to 15 Maintenance Schedule Implementation Guidance OMCS and Client Company Reliability Engineer

Software

The PMO2000® software is used during the Pilot Workshop. The software is designed specifically to facilitate reliability review and analysis processes. The software introduces administrative efficiency and as such allows review of many more tasks than if using generic spreadsheet tools for example. The software also facilitates very rapid implementation within or linking to your CMMS. Three months rental of the software is included in the price of the Pilot Workshop.

The Pilot Workshop is the best way to professionally evaluate the process before committing further resources to any Reliability Improvement process.

Estimating the Pilot ROIpmo2000™

Although the primary purpose of the Pilot is to demonstrate the process, such is the effectiveness and speed of PMO2000® that the Pilot will, by itself, return a considerable ROI. To enhance justification of the Pilot beyond only the demonstration purpose, we suggest you estimate the returns you will receive from just two of the PMO process benefits. These are:

  1. for production improvement, assume your maintenance related down time, including planned and breakdown time, will be halved; and
  2. for maintenance staff effectiveness, assume your maintenance staff will become around 20% more effective immediately as, in the past, typically 20% of existing PM tasks are deleted (as they are either duplicated or served no purpose) during a PMO2000® review / analysis.

It may be prudent to consider these factors when selecting the Pilot site.

Please note, for Pilots international to Australia, OMCS will cover the cost of the return international airfare of its facilitator / trainer to the international airport nearest the Pilot site.

Please Contact OMCS for further information or a discussion document / proposal to conduct a Pilot Workshop at your facility.
